2010 - Madison Love

Madison Love

After my reign as the Barnum Festival 2010 Princess, I graduated Fairfield Ludlowe High School on the Headmaster’s List with a 3.9 GPA and all honors.??During the summer, I worked at Downunder Kayaking, a kayak and stand up paddle-board rental shop in Westport, CT as a camp counselor, instructor, and retail associate.??I am currently attending the University of Connecticut and double majoring in Journalism and Communications within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In conjunction with my major, I am apart of the University of Connecticut Communications Society. I am a proud sister of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and I hold the officer position of Alumnae and Foundation Liaison within the Gamma Zeta Chapter. As an active member of UConn Hillel, the Foundation for Jewish Campus Life, I was elected Vice President of Student Engagement and recently ventured to Israel on a 10 day Taglit-Birthright trip. I am happy to be apart of Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society which honors the academic excellence of freshman students. I have an internship as a contributing writer for The Campus Style, a lifestyle digital magazine for college students that covers fashion, music, entertainment, and news. I volunteer for the largest student-run philanthropy in Connecticut: HuskyTHON, a year long fundraising effort that culminates in an 18 hour dance marathon where all the proceeds go to Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

The Barnum Festival was an experience I will never forget. It taught me life-long lessons that I will carry with me wherever I go and made me the person that I am today. I have created ever-lasting friendships with my Royal Family and I can honestly say that I was at my best when I was with those people.
