Since I handed over my crown as Queen, I graduated Valedictorian of Stratford High School, completed my first summer internship at People’s United Bank, and enrolled at Cornell University. My first semester at Cornell was absolutely incredible, beyond anything I have ever imagined. Everything from the classes, professors, students, lectures, and activities was a new and enriching experience. The environment is one I had craved ever since I could remember; being surrounded by students and faculty all working with a purpose and a dream to achieve success that will change the world.

As expected, I couldn't resist getting involved on campus. I am an active member of the Cornell International Affairs Society, a news writer for the Cornell Daily Sun newspaper, an executive board member for the Latino Ivy League Conference Delegation, the freshman representative of La Asociaci??n Latino, a brother of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, a campus ambassador for the Red Carpet Society, a team member of Cornell Club Swimming, and a Lifeguard for the Athletics Department. In addition, I was accepted to the Public Service Center Scholars Program where I am to volunteer within the Ithaca community. What I am most thrilled about, however, is my admission into the Meinig Family Cornell National Scholars Program, where I was one of 60 freshmen students selected for the most prestigious honor given to the Class of 2015.

Taking four academic courses and a physical education class, it was very difficult. Nonetheless, I excelled, but only after hours of homework each night, long sleepless nights at Uris Library, and endless study sessions. In the end, I got straight A's and earned a 3.8 GPA. In terms of a major, I am still undecided, but I will most likely double major in psychology and political science with a minor in international relations.

The Barnum Festival was by far one of the most rewarding experiences I had in high school. I absolutely loved my Royal Family, Ringmaster, chairs, and all the people who were involved in the event coordination. My reign as Queen is only full of the best memories with the most amazing people. It was so much fun being a part of something with so much history and tradition. I was truly honored to represent P.T. Barnum, and I hope I was able to add to his quest to contribute to the community.
