Barnum Festival to Host Sail the Sound Event on June 9, 2018

The festival will host guests at a dockside picnic dinner and sunset cruise along the Long Island Sound to benefit Barnum Festival activities and scholarships.

BRIDGEPORT, CT (November 17, 2017) The Barnum Festival is one of Bridgeport's longest and finest traditions, having gotten its start in 1948 as a way to celebrate the city and surrounding communities and support local businesses. The festival season kicks off in mid-May with the Whip, Whistle, and Watch Luncheon and culminates July 1st with the traditional Great Street Parade, with a wide variety of free and ticketed events in between with fun for all ages.

Come June, the Festival will host the Sail the Sound event, a well-loved classic that incorporates the natural beauty of Bridgeport and the Sound in summer.

Guests will be treated to a charming dockside picnic, and will then board a ferry for a sunset cruise on the water.

The boat features live music, cocktails, and plenty of lively conversation and dancing. The $60 ticket includes all this plus the bonus of two free roundtrip ferry tickets, valued at $54 each, that entitle the holder to a free trip any time before December 31, 2018. All proceeds go to Barnum Festival activities and scholarships.
